Industrial Chic
We had a lot of fun designing the bedrooms and the shared bathroom for these teenage brothers. Both rooms already had solid architectural details and a beautiful view of the chicken coop in the backyard, however they were missing the individual tastes and personalities of the boys. First, we painted the walls with a rich medium gray that complemented the stained wooden window frames and doors, giving the rooms a much needed contrasting effect. We also chose furniture and accessories that brought a certain industrial flare to better express the boys' urban tastes, in interiors and their collectibles. We used a cohesive color scheme to tie-in the two bedrooms while maintaining a distinction between them, by prominently featuring the unique interests of each of the boys.
