The inspiration for this room came from a painting created by the homeowner. The bamboo painting with its contrast and textures, depicting an East Asian motif using beautiful brush strokes, provided the anchoring theme for the room. We carefully selected accessories that had the right colors, patterns, and textures to make the room feel like an extension of the painting. We also brought some functionality into the room by placing a bookcase between the living room and play/study area. By doing so, we achieved two things: created a physical separation between the two areas, and uncluttered the floor by providing a storage space for books and toys and a display area for some of homeowner's personal items.
